Relatives and Leaving Colorado
Liam says…We started the day with breakfast with my auntie Janet and my cousin Joycie. It was just by chance that my aunt was here in Denver at the same time we were…that meant twice the fun.
After breakfast Corey and I headed downtown with my aunt (Joycie had to work) to visit the Margaret “Molly” Brown House. Yep, we were hanging out in the same house the “unsinkable” Molly Brown lived in.
The tour was great and there was loads of Titanic history sprinkled in as the “real” Molly Brown was revealed. She was quite an interesting woman who championed miners’ and women’s rights. For those who don’t know, the Titanic’s final port-of-call was Queenstown (Cobh), Ireland, and Margaret Brown’s parents were Irish who fled during the potato famine in the mid-1800s.
After raiding Joycie’s fridge, 🙂 we headed east. I’ve never heard anyone talk about eastern Colorado…that’s the flat part…the very flat part…miles and miles of flat. That said, it was filled with plains covered in gorgeous gold and orange.
We’re in Kansas now.
