Old Temecula

Corey says…Liam has been in antique heaven since we arrived in Temecula. Three antique malls so far…and definitely his favorite way to spend a Posh Day. For those of you who don’t know about Irish Fireside Posh Days, it’s that time in a trip when you focus on pampering yourself a little…that moment when you indulge and enjoy and try something you might otherwise skip. Trust me, a good Posh Day can really change you travels (You can follow my Posh Day in Dublin at https://irishfireside.wordpress.com/category/summer-2008/posh-day/…note the entries are most-recent first)

As for Liam in Temecula, I did pry him away from the antique stores long enough for a nice lunch with Carolyn. She’s the Irish-American who invited us to the area. So far, so good and we haven’t even hit the wineries yet.

During our lunch at the Public House, we even had a visit from chef and owner (and based on his project on the patio out back, welder) Jerry Kent. He’s a guy with a passion for great food and connecting with his customers…and his recipe has been a success based on the bustling lunch crowd.

We were completely stuffed from our delicious meal. My corned beef sandwich definitely made the grade and when Liam couldn’t decide between the Asian salad and the Albacore tuna, our server was smart to suggest combining the two.

Our only regret was not sampling the Irish Cream creme brûlée — our stomachs were just too close to bursting.

Then it was time to check in to the Embassy Suites. Now this is the kind of place to spend Posh Day. Great room (I can work on the computer while Liam watches TV…haven’t been able to do that in TWO WEEKs) and great cocktail hour with complimentary drinks in the lounge.

We didn’t go overboard with Posh Day today, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

This chef sounds like my kind of guy. Jack of all trades. Enjoy your Posh day you’ve earned it. Keep those cards and letters coming…mom
