Tales from an Irish Hermitage – Giveaway Day 25

December 25, 2008

Today’s prize is a copy of Tales from an Irish Hermitage by a Nun of Grace.

A very merry Christmas to you all. In honor of this special day, today’s gift comes from the Sisters of Grace in Ireland. It includes a copy of the book “Tales from an Irish Hermitage,” hand-knitted baby mittens and booties from the Sisters of Grace and we’ve also included a pair of handmade angels made by our friend Judy in Texas.

The knitwear is gorgeous and the book includes a collection of insights come from a solitary nun’s life of prayer and work. The book opens with… “Nestling into the green-shawled breast on an Irish mountain a small hermitage hides… Reached only by a bridge, it is girded on three sides by water… two fast-flowing streams and the wide, restless sea…” The often poetic writing celebrates life, God’s gifts upon this earth and never forgets those who are suffering. By purchasing their book or gorgeous handknit products, you will be supporting the Sisters of Grace’s work to feed the hungry, cloth the naked, especially children around the world. Click around their site to learn more, and use the “Direct Message” feature to contact “Anchoressnun.”
